While most people use the game’s platform to create fun, innocuous characters, some have used it to try to spread hateful messages.
Roblox, like Minecraft, allows users to create avatars and virtual worlds for those characters to roam around in. “Did you know you have members on your site promoting #WhitePowerExtremist #DomesticTerrorism groups?” “My kid plays Roblox,” she wrote in an attempt to alert the company. While such disturbing user names, profiles and content in Roblox aren’t new, they got renewed attention from this woman’s tweets. To enrich my IT and computing, I have studied many online courses such as 'An Introduction to Computers and Computer Systems', 'An Introduction to Cyber Security', and a responsive web design course.This week, a Twitter user by the name of started to find neo-Nazi references on Roblox, a popular online game that has more than 100 million active users worldwide and is popular with children. I have been awarded the UK Bebras Challenge award from Hertford College, University of Oxford. Some of my achievements include being awarded an Explorer Award and Discovery Award by the John Muir Trust, in recognition of awareness and responsibility for wild places. I am thrilled to say my results were excellent compared to what I thought I was going to get, and I am now a Grade 9 Photographer! I chose Computer Science, English Language, English Literature, Film Studies, Health and Social Care, Mathematics and Photography. Not only that, but I am also a known Asset Designer for DoubleJGames LTD, creating models, 3D Models and graphical icons.Īrguably the most significant decision of my life was picking my GCSEs. I have also done other IT-related jobs, such as, being a Digital Ambassador and then later a Digital Leader. Roles like that encourage me to keep learning and developing my skills! I helped at these clubs weekly and it was inspiring as I got the chance to help young students learn, and watch them as they understand ICT.
For example, with Year Fives, I’ve assisted in an extracurricular class teaching programming skills. I have been involved in volunteering with a few IT projects for schools. I enjoy most of them, but some of my favourites are Luau, HTML and C#. When I was ten I began learning HTML and ever since then, I have been learning lots of other languages. As a developer, I love listening to music the last song I listened to was 'DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love (feat. We own a company called TeamTBM which was created to help the world in Programming and Game Developing. I am a coder that develops games in different coding languages such as Luau, Java, HTML, C# (C Sharp), and JavaScript! I design them with one of my friends. I am a British software developer and YouTuber experienced in many programming languages who also makes tutorials around game development.
